A beautiful place to live and work. Friendly team of people! The accommodation is pretty basic but provides everything you need including linen and towels and only costs $75 a week! Work days often included split shifts, it was nice to have time in the afternoon for a swim or sunbathe at the beach which is opposite work! Overall lovely place, friendly locals, would definitely recommend to a friend.
⭐ 5 — Fair pay and treatment *:
Great pay, was well structured with shift patterns and times, always so many hours (especially considering it was towards the end of summer) and always had weekend work, so win win for weekend pay. I also worked in all locations and struggled with finishing late in the bar and being in early for housekeeping and the manager made sure to have me come in later in the morning – felt really listened to and cared for!
⭐ 5 — Job matched the promise *:
All boxes were ticked from the conversation I had initially
⭐ 5 — Work-life balance *:
Felt like I had loads of time to explore and socialise as well as work, was able to swim in my breaks for split shifts. Had a point system at work where for every hour you worked you got a dollar to spend on food and drink – encouraged people to socialise and enjoy/treat themselves which helped when trying to save money
⭐ 5 — Friendly, easygoing team *:
Everyone was so lovely, 2 people I met when I moved to the accommodation had returned for the summer season several years in a row which made me feel hopeful for the job, defo understand why people go back! Met some people I’ll know for life <3
⭐ 3 — Quality of accommodation (if applicable):
Was in the female part of the shared house, was a shared room and had access to a kitchen in the main house with washing machine too. I usually just used the hob on the gas BBQ as it was easier. Nothing special but was cheap and did the job so can’t complain.
⭐ 5 — Likelihood you'd recommend to a mate *:
1000% gorgeous place, lovely people, friendly locals too that were very inclusive so all round was great
Overall Experience:
Had the best experience here, was able to save a lot too. The accommodation was so cheap ($75 a week) and everything was on your doorstep – cafes, woolies, work was a 5 min walk. There was a bike there that I used so I was able to cycle to the gym which helped me get around a bit but you don’t really need a car. Met some amazing people!!
